Typically, you will have a Level 5 qualification, such as a Foundation Degree or HND and GCSE English and maths at grade 4/C or above (or a Level 2 equivalent). Mature students (aged 21 or over) with relevant experience will also be considered.

The BSc (Hons.) degree is a top-up course for students who have completed an appropriate course of study at Level 5, including the Foundation Degree in Computer Software Development offered at Chesterfield College. The course has been developed by Chesterfield College in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, employers and entrepreneurs, provides a unique opportunity to gain a recognised degree in computing. The course specifically focuses on the hands-on professional aspects of computing, and aims to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to gain employment and develop as a computing professional. Assessment will include a range of individual and group work activities including: Coursework assignments (these will generally be in the form of a written piece of work to the appropriate academic standard) Written exams (these are formal exams and take place in either January or May) Practical based assignments (the assessments will also include some form of written documentation to support the practical work) Presentations (these will be presented to course tutors, and occasionally, external clients)
